Where to Find Fun

On another day of sheltering with my words and wonder, I decided to look up the word FUN to see how words followed and worked along with it.

I opened the Thesaurus of Quotations, to discover no FUN listed. Frugality, frustration, fulfillment moved into funerals and future. Such a non Funuation.

On to the Oxford collegiate dictionary where FUN existed as enjoyment, amusement, lighthearted pleasure. Followed by funnier and funnest. An explanation of, "someone's idea of fun" meant to emphasize one's dislike for an activity or to mock someone else liking it. Fun is person-specific.
A funambulist means a tight rope walker. Now, that sounds like a funambler.

Function, functionality, functionary appeared on the page. A fundament, described as a foundation, also alluded to as a person's buttocks.

Of course funsters ride a funicular.

Laughter conquers fun with the funny bone that connects to the humerus.

Ah, funny business, funny farm. funny paper and fun run exhausted the list.

I'd say we need more Funishment and funsters around to make life funificent.

The word, funambulist attracts me the most. Now's the time to turn into an acrobat or tight rope walker and discover FUN in life's challenges.

In addition to rope dancing, funambulist also refers to a person with mental agility and skill - a writer. As writers, we struggle from concept to expression along lines that quiver with illusion and reality.

Find today's fun in nature, friends, family, and funning creativity.

Create words that begin with FUN. Funcadiddle. Fundery. Fundalicious.

Go find FUN.
