Spring Clearing for Writers

While you're sheltering at home . . .

April breezes cleanse the air and attract bird song. The Painted Lady butterflies emerge from cocoons to roam leaves and flowers. Nests reveal eggs hatching.

As spring activity arrives, your writing environment needs clearing to prepare for spring's inspiration.

Begin with your work space: Look around and de-clutter.

Dig into obsolete file folders in drawers and on the computer.. You may discover gems needing polish. Put them aside.

If you have a shredding machine, activate it. Gather old bills, letters, papers,  Shred. Shred. Shred.

Begin to translate your paper ideas to the computer for ease of retrieval. Start with one piece of writing a day.

                    Amaze and amuse yourself.

Go for clear surfaces.  Clear. Clear. Clear.  Whee.

You're ready to write beyond the process of eliminating clutter.

Write into the ideas that flutter into your pen.
