Airport People

                                                               - from the Portland, Oregon airport exhibit

Airports provide a variety of people to view.  Individuals arrive, mingle, and depart in all shapes, sizes, ages, colors, and voices. Apparel ranges from casual to prominent. Carrying cases roll in nylon, leather, and metal. Containers carry dogs and cats too.

I'm intrigued by the connections made while traveling. We can communicate one-on-one and make a friend for an instant or longer.  When I spend an hour sitting next to a fellow traveler similarities and differences click. We all carry hopes for love, joys, and celebration.

At times I've felt an odd energy that did not feel positive. Those encounters stimulate me to work to get beyond what a predisposed judgment feels like. Each personal contact moves to companionship through listening and laughter.

The next opportunity to connect with a stranger, savor each moment.

Encourage a fleeting relationship and let reciprocity rule.
