Your Writing Focus

Did you know when the Wrigley company started in 1892, they sold baking powder as the main product?  As a promotion, free chewing gum came in each package.  The free gum became so popular, Wrigley switched its business focus.  Now Wrigley, a multi-billion dollar business, sells gum in 140 countries - and no baking powder.

Investigate the potential for a change of focus in your writing.  Write about your current interest: fiction, non fiction, personal narrative, or poetry.  How do you feel about the progress you have made?

Are you overvaluing a genre of writing at the cost of another?  Would a switch draw a greater audience to your work?

Explore the Wrigley possibilities.
