Retrieval after Revival

"I've always had a soft spot for the first few chapters of Aldo Leopold's A San County Almanac: they describe those first months of the year when the landscape begins to stir after winter's harsh stillness. The idea of revival after lengthy periods of bleakness - like Leopold's spring - has long enhanced me, it gives me hope that the things that seemed forever lost during our coldest hours can - and will - be returned to us. The parallels to our collective experience during the pandemic aren't lost on me. " - Joe Arvai - Director of USC Wrigley Institute for Environmental Studies

"Revival is to claim one's rightful place in one's own history and living culture."

- David St. John

Emile Durkheim writes about,  "collective effervescence" as the joy we derive from shared experience of participating face-to-face with others.

Revival and Retrieval Resonate during the pandemic's challenges. What do we search for now that connects us to what we pushed for and discovered before isolation?

Ponder how isolation nurtured.

   Enhanced creativity with individual projects?

A sense of discovery of assets ?

Consider "collective effervescence."

In reflection, what might we gather from the angst and frustration that will help us focus on an upcoming purpose.

Nature always nurtures.  Revive yourself with nature's wonders for retrieval.
