Become a Fan of Foolishness

Ludwig Wittgenstein became a fan of foolishness although his books dealt with philosophy. He observed, "If people did not sometimes do silly things, nothing intelligent would ever get done."

Wittgenstein wrote, "Never stay up on the barren heights of cleverness, but come down into the green valleys of silliness."

He continued, "Don't be afraid of talking nonsense. But you must pay attention to your nonsense."

Observe creatures in the shadows. Notice absurdity. Get into a funny mode. Make no sense.

Tease your curiosity out to play and twirl in the twilight.

Do you see a dragon with a carnation in its teeth?

Where will the dragon lead you?

Can you find the quack in the flower?

Let yourself sail into the seduction of silliness.

Follow slick hearts and arrows on the pavement.

Creative Write:  Become a fan of foolishness. Write with glee.
