Facts Not Fear. Worry the Write Way

"Covid-19 is nowhere near over. It will be coming to a city, a hospital, a friend, even a family member near you at some point. Expect it. Stop waiting to be surprised further. The fact is the virus itself will not likely do much harm when it arrives. But our own behaviors and “fight for yourself above all else” attitude could prove disastrous.
I implore you all. Temper fear with reason, panic with patience and uncertainty with education. We have an opportunity to learn a great deal about health hygiene and limiting the spread of innumerable transmissible diseases in our society. Let’s meet this challenge together in the best spirit of compassion for others, patience, and above all, an unfailing effort to seek truth, facts and knowledge as opposed to conjecture, speculation and catastrophizing."
"Facts not fear. Clean hands. Open hearts." - Dr. Abdhu Sharkawy, infectious diseases specialist
"I envy the hawk, who glides with majesty and ease overhead, and for whom today must seem very much like the days before. We have no choice but to be prudent and forge a world once more of grace and hope." - Dan Rather.

For everyone, action works better than worry to enhance survival skills. Mind chatter goes nowhere.

Birds never worry. They fly and feast and fertilize to create more birds. Worms don't worry, they sleep later.

Act or sleep.

Get beyond the worrisome condition by transferring worries into writing.

l. Write a worry at the top of the page. Write to the end of the page all the worry's details in sound, sight, scent, and all that arrives in the flow.
2. Give names to the worry. Then find a Winged Warrior to debate and dialogue with the worry. Write another page.
3. Add a bit of humor. See where and how that moves your mind.
4.  Use a metaphor to show how worries can evolve.

When worries keep our mind moving in aimless directions, we need to saddle and bridle them. Turn them into show horses for our well-being and writing practice.

Worry the Write Way.
