Write about Uneasiness

". . . if a sadness rises in front of you, larger than any you have ever seen; if an anxiety, like light and cloud-shadows, moves over your hands and over everything you do, you must realize that something is happening to you. That life has not forgotten you, that it holds you in its hand and will not let you fall. Why do you want to shut out of your life any uneasiness, any misery, any depression, since after all you don't know what work these conditions are doing inside you?
                                                                                       — Rainer Maria Rilke

As we move through a day's sunshine, hurts and undigested grief often rise up without warning. The sadness over a beloved's death, illness or another type of loss involves more than the leaving. We need to delve into the sadness to regain balance.

When we have discovered all emotions with curiosity and compassion, they dissipate. Like a dam dissolving, our hearts break open to feel more of everything. If we allow ourselves to feel the sensory details of sadness and fear, we expand to feel more love and joy.

The work inside continues as we write to circulate words through the uneasiness and into balance.

Creative Write: Write into your uneasiness.  Get to the roots of pain and climb back into the blossoms of joy.
