Go POW then WOW

First think about how to put your Power over Worry.  Come on, you can do it by moving into the WOW of life.

Transition into a WOW!  Work to become a Warrior, not a worrier.

Power Over Worry!   Warriors Outlast Worriers!

Life throws challenges and unexpected situations at us with inconveniences, car troubles, appliances that break. It's the tiny things can cause the most irritation and stress.

A few ideas:

l.  When a worrisome notion travels through the brain, meet it straight on.
Decide three ways to overcome or neutralize it.

2.  Push your mind to wander and ask, "How many ways I have adapted before."

3.  Whoosh with kindness. Thank someone for a smile. Compliment someone.

4.  Share a wakeful moment of Wonder. Stop and look around at what amazes and amuses.

5.  Wrangle with the fear and laugh on. Humor assists as a solver of problems.

Driver Education

Oh! for the open road.

Highway and road rules and regulations seem like "suggestions" these days. Everyone rolls stop signs. Few use turn indicators. Many weave in and out of traffic at high speeds. Some even drive with their knees; coffee in one hand, cell phone in the other.

These individuals certainly trust the attention and ability of surrounding drivers.

I would like to develop comment cards to communicate with drivers.

Student Driver. Stay Back. Way back.

Beware: 90 year old deaf driver. Don't cut me off.

Don't Tailgate, I have no brakes.

Stop Texting. I'm texting your license plate to Highway Patrol.

If you can read this sign, you're nearsighted and shouldn't drive this close.

As long as you're this close will you wash my rear window?

Did you know that stalk on your steering wheel activates the turn indicators?

You're drafting so close? Are you practicing for NASCAR?

Don't drive so close. When I sneeze I brake without warning.

My favorite card would include a huge photograph of portapotties. The sign would read: Sudden stops. Tailgate at your own risk.

To encourage safety on the road of frantic drivers, the Highway Patrol could hire me as a revenue-maker to issue "citizen citations."

The Power of Awareness

Mahatma Gandhi said, "I never let anyone walk through my mind with dirty feet."

Through the power of awareness and in a centered state, we notice the temporary nature of harmful thoughts. We have the ability to choose thoughts that enrich us. They will become self-enhancing. In that way, we avoid the dirty feet of guilt and self-rejection.

Take time today to notice your stormy emotional "weather." Respond to it rather than suppressing the emotions through negative behavior or avoidance.

Pain, loss, and sadness are emotions - part of life. Suffering, guilt and resistance/avoidance are behavioral choices. Like physical training, mental training takes time and practice. Over time, mental muscles show strength.

Use writing to maintain centered awareness. Develop your sense of wonder. You will discover its indestructible quality!

Avoid the dirty feet today by noticing the world with all the senses.
