An Empty Mind

"When I walk out into the world, I take no thoughts with me. That's not easy, but you can learn to do it. An empty mind is hungry, so you can look at everything longer, and closer. Don't hum. When you listen with empty ears, you hear more. This is the core of the secret: Attention is the beginning of devotion." - Mary Oliver

Try a wander without a destination. Let details of nature aid your attention.

Listen to the breeze. Notice patterns the trees play against the blue and clouds.

Imagine climbing with care into the center of a rose. Feel the texture of petals and scents that surround you. Make a wish.

Search for critters reflected by clouds in puddles.
Listen to the rush of wind or waves if you visit the sea.

Find a bird in a waiting state. What can you learn from calm feathers?

With time, the mind will empty as attention takes over.  Breathe in with bliss.
