Mind Clutter Distracted

At times the mind shows up as a trickster rather than a friend. Mind clutter occurs when memories of negative past events, old fears or current frustrations flood the brain. Then the trickster takes over. Tidal waves of anxiety roll.

Prepare for the times of overwhelming emotions. Develop a creative arsenal ready for the onslaught.

Discover a variety of ways to stop the brain's mental trickery.

First, end the mind chatter and take a few breaths to calm the clutter.

Observe a brief look at the former mental image. Smile. Accept the situation without judgment.

Take a sponge and wipe the slate clean.

How will you benefit from not reacting as usual? View the situation from a new angle.

Dialogue with the tricking mind. "You will not get me this time."

Focus on three successes. Find them in colors, scenes, and sounds.

Find your amusement. Try a few ha ha ha sounds. Dress the mind in different attire and Laugh.

Sing your favorite tunes.

Make a list of the ways you have outfoxed your mental trickster.

Show your mind that you will outplay and outlast any hijinks with creative horseplay.

Celebrate your Pow-er to distract the mind clutter.
