Morning Awakening




Night meets and is overwhelmed by morning, the light depending, the wind easing and just waiting, as I too wait (and when have I ever been disappointed?) for redbird to sing






When you awaken each morning, lie on your back and take five deep breaths. Then exhale for five.


Imagine with each exhalation that you can sink into a grassy area filled with daisies.  


Listen for birdsong.


Feel grounded and a part of the earth. 


Open your eyes to a blue sky with flying clouds. Breathe in your favorite fragrance.


Let your awareness mingle with sky and earth 
before you awaken to the challenges of the day.
