Taming the Volcano

If your heart is a volcano, how shall you expect flowers to bloom? ~Kahlil Gibran

When we feel anxiety, our perspective changes. Everything looms large and out of kilter. A volcano churns, ready to erupt. We become consumed with a fear or concern that our mind has developed. Often the outcome in a situation never equals the weight we give it. We need a way to relent and relax.

Writing helps to move us from the blaze of turmoil into a time of flow. The focus on letters and words that cascade from the pen or keys creates a meditation that calms. Within a writing sequence, the mind returns to its elastic self and anxiety blooms into tulips.

Creative Write: Take time daily to move into the writing flow without direction. Tame your wild mind's volcano with words.
