Poetry Month in April

Necessity

If  I’m hiding
search for me
in a spider’s dream
or web of twilight.
You might find me
in shadows gone
ladybug on a lemony
sway of eucalpytus.
Consider me in
the moon’s crackle
above the pines.
I’m there just before
stars prickle dusk
with the promise
of what we
most need.

You do not need to like poetry or write poetry to enjoy a play of words. Concentrate on flavoring your writing with sensory word choices this month.

Fill your sentences with imagery.  Take a raw experience and shape words into a rhythm.
Explore a mystery.  Bring in wild joy and ache of sorrow.  Dab in confusion and magic.

Let the reader realize a connection.
