Connect with Contentment

Many go fishing all their lives without knowing it is not fish they are after.  - Henry David Thoreau

My crown is in my heart,
not in my head,
Nor decked with diamonds
and Indian stones,
Nor to be seen:
My crown is called content:
A crown it is, that seldom kings enjoy.
     -William Shakespeare

The Master speaks of kireigoto or "pretty things," meaning less things. People spend all their time acquiring things. The cycle becomes endless for more and bigger. Throw away smaller one for the larger one; out with the old for a new one.

Make room in the heart for the art of nature.

Take in the "pretty things" with all the senses.

What lasts consists of the "things" you keep inside.

Ware tada taru koto shiru - I only know contentment.

To feel that one has a place in life solves half the problems of contentment. - George E. Woodberry

Yes, there is a Nirvanah; it is leading your sheep to a green pasture, and in putting your child to sleep, and in writing the last line of your poem.
    - Kahlil Gibran

Find metaphors in nature to connect with contentment.
