Celebrate Wearing of the Green

Nodding the head does not row the boat - Irish proverb

St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, escaped imprisonment and walked 200 miles from County Mayo to the Irish Coast. He had a vision of an angel who told him to return to Ireland to convert the Irish people to Christianity.

False stories abound concerning his adventures such as the one about him banishing all the snakes from Ireland.

Originally associated with the color blue, St. Patrick's color came from the shamrock whose three leaves stand for the Holy Trinity.

"Wearing of the green" meant wearing a shamrock and fighting against Irish paganism.

Celebrate your storytelling. Weave in a bit of "the ol' blarney" (something deceptive or misleading).
